The Ananda Niketon European School, is an English medium school that combines some of the best elements of activity-based teaching learning.

Curriculum that draws mainly on the British curriculum especially in the early years.
Classroom environment that allows children to interact with a choice of activities including a Language, Math and Home Corner so that they can learn by doing. The Classroom includes large display area for presenting children’s work so that they have a sense of accomplishment.
Active teaching learning creating opportunity for children to work in large and small groups as well as individually eliminating passive learning.
Time management: Instead of having subject based classes of fixed duration, Lesson time is so managed that core competencies are focused allowing the teacher and the individual learner to be actively engaged in a purposeful activity every minute; and
Lesson planning is based on continuous assessment allowing each child to proceed according to her/his ability and pace.
As many parents would rather their children qualified as doctors, engineers, lawyers or accountants in this country before going abroad for higher education, ANES provides its pupils, on completion of Grade VIII, with a choice of curriculum between O Level and English version national curriculum.
While ANES is an English medium school, it places equal emphasis on Bangla. Children are able to read fluently with comprehension and enjoy reading in both the languages from the early years. They are also able to express themselves in writing and communicate in both English and Bangla within the first 18 months.
ANES is an inclusive school. It believes that it is our moral duty as educators to create opportunity for the physically challenged children to attend mainstream schools. As 10% of the children overall are handicapped. ANES reserves 10% of its seats for these children.

Reading
Each child is able to read fluently and independently with comprehension and enjoys reading in both English and Bangla; and
Creative Writing
Each learner is able to express herself/himself and communicate in writing in both languages.
This involves understanding in the concrete, the number system and place value; calculations and problem solving; shapes, space, position and movement; length, mass, capacity and time.
Enables the learner to observe, analyse, experiment, record and present information and facts. The lab encourages every child to acquire computer skills early in life.
Able to actively participate in an inclusive environment, perform, listen, analyse, raise question, protect and resolve issues in a context.
